Our Mission

"To cultivate the ethical use of synthetic media to educate the public, challenge manipulative power structures, and strengthen society's ability to understand and respond to emerging media technologies."

As deepfake technology becomes easier to create and harder to detect, its impact on public trust and civic life can no longer be treated as a future problem. We're preparing people for a world where synthetic media is commonplace.

The Initiative

Deepfake for Good (DF4G) is a nonprofit initiative at the intersection of education, research, and cultural critique. We combine practical experimentation with public-facing education to prepare people for a world where synthetic media is commonplace.

Our goal: ensure synthetic media's use is not defined solely by authoritarian governments, dominant platforms, or commercial incentives—but by those committed to public understanding and accountability.
